Check your voicemail inbox at least twice per day and respond within 36 hours to a request. If you are on vacation or will be unable to respond in a timely fashion, either turn your out-of-office message on or make sure someone else is monitoring your voicemails.

Reply to every message that originates from a person. It is not necessary to respond to general solicitations and advertisements.

During the Conversation:

Don’t try to be a counselor. Instead, recommend people to attend a Life Group, talk with a ministry leader, or set an appointment for counseling (please reference City First Church Counselor Referral List on staff.cityfirst.church). It’s not your job to have all the answers but rather to connect them with someone who does.

Encourage church visitors to visit cityfirst.church or connect them with the appropriate pastor for the information they are seeking.

Encourage people to attend Starting Point. It is the best place to learn about the mission, vision, and core values of City First Church.

Ask yourself: Instead of connecting people to the church staff, how can we connect them with each other?

Instead of making people wait for us, how can we give them tools that empower them to do things themselves?

Can I connect them to an organization or an event, if possible? In other words, what are the next steps?
